YEAR 3: THE STONE AGE
Recently, Year 3 have been learning all about what life was like in the Stone Age.
The children have been enjoying looking at the picture book ‘Ug’ by Raymond Briggs, which tells the story of this ‘Boy Genius of the Stone Age’. He is an interesting character – and one who pupils have been able to identify with through role-play, drama, speaking and listening. Ug’s ideas and suggestions about how to make improvements have also given us a great starting point for different pieces of writing.
In our topic lessons, we have been finding out about some of the challenges Stone Age people might have faced, and how they gradually developed things over long periods of time to make their lives easier. For Art, we have also created our own cave paintings! Now we are all looking forward to our trip to Butser Farm, in March.
